About 123 Calculators

123 Calculators exists because of a dinner conversation that went sideways. In early 2023, two friends were arguing about whether it made more financial sense to invest a ₹5 lakh bonus in a fixed deposit or use it to prepay a home loan. Both had strong opinions but neither had the actual numbers. They spent twenty minutes searching for a calculator that could show them both scenarios side by side — and every tool they found either required sign-up, showed only one calculation at a time, or was so cluttered with advertisements that the actual calculator was hard to find.

One of those friends happened to be a web developer. By the following weekend, the first version of 123 Calculators was live with three tools: a Loan Calculator, an Investment Return Calculator, and a Tip Calculator (because splitting dinner bills fairly was the other recurring argument in the friend group).

Our Approach to Building Calculators

Every tool on 123 Calculators is built for a specific real-life situation where getting the right number makes a real difference in your decision. We do not build calculators for obscure mathematical scenarios — we build them for the moments when you are standing in a bank, sitting with a financial advisor, checking a restaurant bill, or planning your monthly budget.

Our design principle is simple: the calculator should load instantly, the input fields should be self-explanatory, and the results should include enough detail for you to trust them. That means showing formulas, offering comparison views, and breaking down results into components you can verify independently.

Privacy and Trust

We take a firm stance on user privacy: we do not want your data. All calculations are performed using JavaScript in your browser. Your financial numbers, health data, and personal information never leave your device. There are no cookies tracking your calculator usage, no analytics on what values you enter, and no data collection of any kind. We believe that financial tool websites have no business knowing your salary, loan amount, or investment portfolio.

The Team Behind 123 Calculators

We are a two-person team — one developer and one finance professional — who maintain this project alongside our regular careers. This means we move carefully rather than quickly: every new calculator goes through formula verification, edge case testing, and comparison against established financial tools before it goes live. We would rather have ten reliable calculators than fifty unreliable ones.

Feedback and Suggestions

If you have found a bug, have a suggestion for a new calculator, or want to let us know that a tool helped you make a decision, we would love to hear from you. Reach out through our Contact page — every message is read and responded to personally.
